Submit Sites to Pligg

Pligg Update: I encourage all people who self promote their hubs to go to sites, including Pligg sites, that have traffic from outsiders. In other words, if the sites do not show well in search, and are just visited by people who promote their websites, these should be avoided. Google most likely wants, and I agree with this, quality links, quality real folks, in order to better judge your website quality. I don't speak for Google, and this is just my personal observation.

Pligg is very new and improved technology. Pligg helps search engines find quality websites. The way it does so is to allow websites that operate with a Pligg template to congregate votes that bring websites to the top, as cream rises to the top. While that concept is debatable, because of the limitations of the voters with regard to education and sophistication, there seems to be no better way to establish which websites are better than by a Pligg template with user interaction.

Social bookmarking websites have been doing this with great success, like Digg and Tweetmeme. However, Pligg allows niche website formation with this cms technology. Some sites are standard and some are niche as examples below show you. Pligg allows for you to purchase a very inexpensive template or to be set up by Pligg hosting companies. There are a few and this one has a good review.

The democratization of any technology is a good thing and allows for transparency. Some have said that Digg and others are mob ruled. That will be less easy to accomplish with likely thousands of Pligg sites to be found on a variety of subjects. Pligg will allow lots of startup businesses to succeed. At least that is the hope.

Pligg hosting is for the people, being quite inexpensive. If you can afford under 10 bucks a month you can be set up with a Pligg domain.

Pligg has an advantage over directories. You can pay a directory and submit crap that may well be accepted. However, even if you pay a Pligg based automated service or use it for free, you still have to be voted up as regards your content. If the content is not good, it is likely you will not be voted up and search engines will not give you as great a ranking. Pligg is the future of internet search rankings.Most links that are submitted through IMAutomator are dofollow, although there is a mix of nofollow links.

Pligg will likely force a diversity of opinion, as some see that mobs that allegedly dominate Digg website approvals will have no ability to be everywhere all the time. Now Digg would tell you that they are not mob ruled.

But with Pligg, it won't matter anymore. That is the genius of Pligg. Search engines cannot determine the intelligence of users of Digg. Search engines cannot determine if these users are skewed to popular websites, popular mainstream websites or if mobs have an agenda. We do know that Tweetmeme has democratized the ratings process, but not every website has a tweetmeme badge on it. So certainly the ability to submit the web to Pliggs will establish a much fairer way of determining quality content, which will make search better.

Indeed, if you wanted mainstream you should have kept newspapers and forgot about the internet. There is a lot of information out there in cyber space that deserves a hearing, whether it is mainstream or not. And if it has merit, it should rise to the top. If it doesn't then people will not vote it up. By giving people the opportunity to go to websites that are not dominated by one group, one would think that there will be a level of expertise there that is missing on Digg. That is the hope.
